This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and innovative team of experts in a well-regarded growing environmental consultancy providing a full range of technical services across three offices, giving you opportunities to diversify your experience and develop your career.

Candidates should be degree qualified ideally in a relevant environmental/engineering discipline. The successful candidate is likely to have +10 years’ experience in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and river engineering, ideally working for private and public sector clients, and have achieved professional qualification with CIWEM or ICE.

You will work alongside technical specialists and project managers to provide technical expertise and ensure that projects are delivered to budget, schedule, technical, and quality standards. You will play a key role in the management of the team and projects, taking on multiple small to large projects for a wide range of clients across several residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

You will have experience in the management and development of staff, as well as the ability to lead and provide technical leadership across the team.

Key skills include:

  • Experience in managing and delivering flood risk projects prepared in accordance with national and local policies (i.e. NPPF, NPF3 and TAN15). 
  • Experience preparing and critically reviewing technical reports.
  • Experience working with hydraulic modellers and drainage engineers, as well as leading multidisciplinary teams to delivery projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience attending client and water regulator meetings.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software, including hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and GIS software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, a collaborative approach, and a proven ability to deliver work on time.
  • Being a team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility, and versatility.
  • Ability to mentor, encourage, and support junior team members.
  • Ability to grow this sector of our business by finding, developing, and managing your own client base, and contributing to managing our existing clients.
  • Ability to innovate by identifying emerging market opportunities and accommodate future changes in regulatory requirements into our service offer.
  • A desire to build on your existing experience by maintaining continuing professional development.
  • Hold a full UK Driving License.
