Working with a well-regarded and growing environmental consultancy providing a full range of technical services across soon to be five offices, this is an excellent opportunity to shape your future and their direction. This role can be based in their Manchester or Cambridgeshire office.

Due to current and increasing workload they are seeking to recruit into the role of Director of Traffic and Transportation. With a significant level of work currently subcontracted out, the role will be to bring that revenue stream in house developing your own team as you go.

You will provide specialist consultancy advice for traffic and transport management and traffic management plans. You will operate both nationally and internationally, producing high quality traffic assessments and management plans for a number of sectors including Waste, Minerals, Land and Property Development, Infrastructure Development, Energy and Utilities and Insurance Companies and will provide services as described below.

As a Director of Traffic and Transportation you will require;

  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Excellent graphic presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills including report writing and verbal communication
  • Be able to produce high quality reports including; Transport Assessments, Road Safety Assessments, Travel Plans/Travel Information Packs, Junction and highway design, Traffic management plans, Experience with Autotrack, Car parking accumulation surveys and parking stress surveys, Traffic and speed surveys
  • Have an understanding of related topics such as landscape design, drainage, property and land development, waste and water utility industries as well as acoustics
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and on their own initiative, be able to manage their time effectively, juggling the demands of delivering multiple high quality projects on time and to budget
  • Have good computer skills including AutoCAD, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking as well as specialist software such as ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG.  Autotrack, KeySign and experience of Keylines is essential
  • A member of the Institute of Civil Engineers is preferred.
  • Degree and/or Post Graduate qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Over 10 years’ experience is preferred.
