Property Development Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Property Development Manager with a leading Developer in Exeter.

My Client is a property development and trading group based in Exeter and focused on the South-West of England. It has a wide range of interests from development sites in Outland Road Plymouth, the Royal Clarence in Exeter, the Laceworks in Barnstaple, Sandhill Park in Somerset and the Paint Laboratory on the foreshore in Newton Ferrers, to new and exciting development projects. The focus of this role is to take primary responsibility for projects, whilst reporting to the Chairman. Support the Development Director and the wider team, effectively communicating and influencing at all levels to successfully achieve the broader project vision, goals, and objectives. We are seeking an outstanding individual to help us achieve our ambitions. We are not aiming to recruit a highly experienced individual but someone who is on a journey to develop themselves (with support) to become a highly valued colleague.


Key Responsibilities:

We do not expect the successful candidate to be an expert in all the matters listed below, however, experience in some of the areas and a willingness to learn further is desired. The candidate will be supported on their development journey by both the internal team and the high-quality professional teams with whom we work.

Project manage the acquisition and development of projects from inception to completion with support and supervision.

Lead consultant teams through Review, Acquisition, Planning, Development, Delivery, Marketing and Disposal.

Chair project team meetings Set up monitoring processes for Design, Planning Applications and Section 106 Negotiations.

Prepare tracking schedules, reports, and maintain up to date status reports. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including health and safety Carry out monthly reviews of the financial appraisals and profit forecasting.

Undertake research on matters that are relevant to projects, such as political context and planning history. Liaising as necessary with external consultants and agents in obtaining the correct information.

Prepare draft standard formats for key documentation. Overseeing and reviewing relevant planning submission.

Set up and attend key stakeholder meetings, presentations, and site visits.

Qualifications & Experience: Professional qualifications (or part thereof) not essential but desirable. Candidates from wide-ranging backgrounds with 2 or more years’ experience within a business or another organisation. Knowledge of at least one of the following is advantageous -the development process, finance, planning or ecology IT Literacy skills essential, programming software skills are desirable.
