Senior Consultant – Environmental Permitting

Working with a lively and expansive environmental consultancy, we are seeking an environmental permitting professional at Senior Consultant or potentially Principal level.

Whilst the role description below is applicable and certainly support and training is in place, the core brief/need is as follows;

  • Installation Permitting is the main aspect of the role and you must have that experience
  • You must have experience “Best Available Techniques”
  • Whilst we are flexible, you will need to be in the office 3 days per week

Your role includes: reporting on a day-to-day basis to the Environmental Permitting Principal and working with others in the team or multi-disciplinary project teams, as required; liaising with others in the environmental team as well as with other Environmental Specialists in other company offices and actively participating in networking.

As an overview, as a Senior consultant in Environmental Permitting you will join a team of highly experienced staff who can offer technical advice on negotiating the complexities of environmental regulation and how current and future legislation may affect your existing or proposed operations. We work for a broad range of clients across several industry sectors and offer support and advice as project managers or alternatively as partners to an existing project team. We deliver a wide range of geo-environmental services across a wide spectrum of sectors, for example: Rail, Commercial, Residential, Utilities, Defence, Renewables.

The role will primarily be office based with travel required attending client meetings and sites as required although minimal. Continued Professional Development and career training is available to facilitate future career and knowledge development.

Essential Experience/Skills

  • BSc in Geography/Environmental Science (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in compliance and permitting
  • Previous experience of consultancy would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Driving licence
  • Eligibility to work and reside in the UK
