Meet Our Recruitment Consultant Lewis!

This week we want to introduce you to our Recruitment Consultant Lewis Ashman. Lewis started working for Flagship earlier this year and his main focus is recruiting PQSs and PMs in the South West.

We asked Lewis some questions about Flagship, his role, and the current market. Read below what Lewis had to say!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Flagship?

I recently graduated from Swansea University and joined Flagship as a recruitment consultant. I am the main point of contact for Flagship’s clients across the South West and I’m actively recruiting in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Truro, Plymouth, Winchester, and Bath.

What roles do you recruit for and with what sort of clients?

I predominantly recruit for construction consultancies, mainly for PQS and Project Manager positions. However, I have also recently been doing some recruitment for developers.

What is your view on the market at the moment?

Job vacancies in the construction industry are at an all time high according to the construction enquirer so it is definitely an exciting time to be considering a move.

What advice would you give a jobseeker looking for work?

From my experience so far working with consultancies, I would recommend that QSs and PMs work towards becoming chartered as soon as they possibly can. The process may be a fairly long-winded one to get through but opens up so many more opportunities once its done!

What makes Flagship stand out in a crowded industry such as recruitment?

The way Flagship maintains relationships with both clients and candidates make us stand out in the industry. With some of our client relationships standing for longer than 15 years, it really goes to show how our professional outlook on recruitment makes a difference.

What do you get up to outside of work?

I enjoy keeping fit, going to the gym regularly as well as running. I also recently started playing golf which I am enjoying.
